Nutrition

Dr. Specht tests for nutritional and dietary imbalances as part of his regular treatment in healing “the entire body”. Year after year, he attends seminars on nutritional and dietary imbalances, and how that affects muscles, bones, and neurological function, to better help his patients.

He uses much of his time away from the office to constantly read the latest books, newsletters, and websites regarding dietary, nutritional, and environmental aspects of a person’s health.

Clinical Kinesiology

To understand the method of Clinical Kinesiology (CK) and the Biocomputer model developed by Alan Beardall, DC it is first necessary to trace the progression of Kinesiology from its beginnings. George Goodheart, DC pioneered the practice of Applied Kinesiology (AK) that was later refined by Alan Beardall, DC as the practice of Clinical Kinesiology.

Kinesiology and Applied Kinesiology (AK) Defined Kinesiology in common medical usage is “the study of muscles and muscular movement.” 1) However, when coupled with the word “applied, ” a whole new concept is invoked: the use of muscle testing to evaluate body function. 2) That is, by manually testing various muscles, areas of dysfunction can be diagnosed. These areas can then be tested in relation to therapeutic reflex points and acupuncture points to identify causal factors.

The diseases begin first as an imbalance in the body’s energy fields that, if sustained, progress onto the physical plane. 3) As will be described below, weakness in a muscle is an energetic phenomenon, which can be used to identify health problems before symptoms appear, thereby allowing Western medicine to begin to practice prevention. This is very similar to the Chinese belief that illness is caused by imbalances of energy in the meridian system, as determined by pulse diagnosis. Kaptchuk has dealt with these concepts in great detail. 4) He describes how, in China today, the Western approach is often used in acute and emergency situations where there is a definite and clear concept of the disease etiology. The Eastern approach predominates in situations of a chronic nature and in functional disorders. Kinesiology is a tool that opens a doorway between Eastern and Western approaches to health, allowing a paradigm shift away from disease identification and defeat towards disease prevention and the promotion of wellness.

Active Release Technique

Every ART session is actually a combination of examination and treatment. The ART provider uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness, and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements. These treatment protocols – over 500 specific moves – are unique to ART. They allow providers to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient.

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)

NET is a mind-body stress-reduction technique that uses a methodology of finding and removing neurological imbalances related to the physiology of unresolved stress. NET is a tool that helps improve mental and physical health.

NET can neutralize past or present traumas, self-sabotaging behaviors, and situations that are bothersome or cause you discomfort, both physically and emotionally, in very little time.

K-Laser

Laser Kinesiology – A modern way to correct muscle imbalance, using the laser. Muscle balance strongly supports spine and other articulations, i.e. the joints of the body.

Quantum Neurology

Quantum Neurology® is a safe and non-invasive rehabilitation program that is unique to each person and specifies in nerve testing and rehabilitation. This modality is especially helpful for patients that have, or have had concussions, or vertigo.

Developed over the course of 10 years, Quantum Neurology was born out of Dr. George Gonzalez’s work restoring his own wife’s health after a spinal cord injury. Quantum Neurology is a patented, specific protocol used to strengthen the nervous system and rehabilitate muscles. When using Quantum Neurology, Dr. Specht uses light therapy to activate the body’s natural actions, reactions, and reflexes to restore function to motor, cranial, sensory, and visceral nerves using light therapy and nerve-specific exercises.

Dr. Specht became Certified in Quantum Neurology in 2016.
