Dr. Specht is the best chiropractor I have ever been to, and I am not just saying that. At a time when I thought my right arm and shoulder would never be the same from working with computers for so many years, he was able to use some very advanced techniques to alleviate the pain and discomfort, and in effect, heal my trauma. No other Chiropractor I had been to in the few years prior, had really been able to make a difference, much less a difference as great as this. He is truly gifted with the ability to heal. I don’t know where I’d be without him.
My shoulder had never been the same since an auto accident I had in June 2006, due to the fact that a few weeks later, I had my first child and had many other priorities to address with Dr. Specht at the time. I had also been avoiding exercise and I knew that played a huge roll in completing my recovery. So finally, in February 2011, I started to exercise my shoulders. I must have done something wrong the second time I did the shoulder exercises because my shoulder felt tweaked. A couple of nights later, I woke up at 4:30 in the morning with severe pain in my left shoulder and couldn’t go back to sleep. I immediately got on the cancellation list to see Dr. Specht.
The pain was so bad that on that day, I could barely get my younger child in or out of the car. That night, I woke up in severe pain a couple of times; the following afternoon, I was able to see Dr. Specht. He said I had a bruised tendon and we also couldn’t rule out the mild possibility that I had a tear. There were times during the first two weeks when the pain was so bad that I was tempted to take pain medication (so glad I didn’t – I have severe reations to most pain medications). Over the course of the next 2-3 months, Dr. Specht helped me by reactivating many muscles, giving me supplements for inflammation and mold exposure (the inflammation and mold exposure aggravated the pain of the injury), and treating the organs that have meridians that go through the area. Some of the treatment even involved the emotional therapy called NET. (See an explanation) To compliment what Dr. Specht was doing, I had some massage and laser treatments by Alex Blanchard (in the office). And now, just three months later, I have experienced a full recovery and have a fully fuctional shoulder, back to what it was before the accident five years ago.
It’s just so amazing to me that even after being a patient of Dr. Spechts’s for over 10 years, I continue to learn something new about how the body functions and can heal, and more importantly thrive, without surgery or prescription medications. I am way healthier and more energetic going into my 40’s than I was in my 20’s. I’ve made many adjustments along the way, and I’m sure there are more to make, but it’s all worth it!!!
